Sign-On Letters

Build Power MoKan has issued two sign-on letters:

December 10, 2020 – Sign-On Letter was directed at Evergy, Governor Kelly, Governor Parson, the Kansas Corporation Commission, the Missouri Public Service Commission and all other elected officials in Evergy’s service territory in Kansas and Missouri. It called for an extended moratorium on utility shutoffs, reinstating utility service for those shut off during the pandemic, increased regulator transparency, and more

March 9, 20201 – Sign-On Letter was directed to David Campbell, President and CEO of Evergy. It called for Evergy to close the Lawrence coal plant, transition to clean and renewable energy, and for Evergy to increase transparency do more to listen to Kansas and Missouri communities.

September 9, 2021 – Sign-on Letter was sent by allies across the Kansas City metro area to Evergy CEO David Campbell calling for the utility to cease shutting off Missouri and Kansas families’ electricity as the COVID-19 pandemic continues. The letter further invited the utility to meet with community organizations to work together to implement just solutions to the health and economic crisis. Evergy has yet to respond to the letter.
